چکیده

In this study, an alternative method for conducting probabilistic fault displacement hazard analysis is developed based on stochastic source modeling and analytical formulae evaluating the elastic dislocation due to earthquake rupture. It characterizes uncertainty of fault-rupture occurrence in terms its position, geometry, slip distribution adopts so-called Okada equations calculation ground surface. The compatible with fault-source-based seismic can be implemented via Monte Carlo simulations. new useful differential displacements caused by rupture at multiple locations simultaneously. proposed applied Leech River Valley Fault located vicinity Victoria, British Columbia, Canada. Modeling of Fault Co-seismic Displacement Fields in Elastic Environments Based on Spherical Dislocation Theory

This research is based on the modeling of co-seismic deformations due to the fault movement in the elastic environments, and we can obtain the deformations generated in the faults. Here, modeling of the co-seismic displacement field is based on the analytical method with two spherical dislocation model and half-space dislocation model. The difference in displacement field from two spherical and...

Displacement Sensor Fault Tolerance for Hydraulic Servo Axis

In this paper, a fault management system for a hydraulic servo axis is described. This system is capable of sustaining faults in the piston displacement sensor of the position-controlled hydraulic servo axis. By means of a parity equation based fault detection stage, faults in the displacement sensor as well as other sensors and components of the servo axis can be detected and subsequently be d...

Collateral damage: Evolution with displacement of fracture distribution and secondary fault strands in fault damage zones

[1] We investigate the development of fracture distributions as a function of displacement to determine whether damage around small and large faults is governed by the same process. Based on our own field work combined with data from the literature, we find that (1) isolated single faults with small displacements have macrofracture densities that decay as r, where r is distance from the fault p...

Stochastic Finite Fault Modeling for the 16 September 1978 Tabas, Iran, Earthquake

The main objective of this study is estimating acceleration time history of 16 September 1978 Tabas earthquake incorporating the seismological/geological source-path and site model parameters by using finite-fault simulation approach. The method generalizes the stochastic ground-motion simulation technique, developed for point sources, to the case of finite faults. It subdivides the fault plane...
